A squared bottom is always important for the nuts and saddles, it’s hard to keep the nuts or saddles vertically when you hand sanding them, and the poor fit will be a tone problem.

This Nut Saddle Sander is a perfect tool to square the nuts and saddles bottom, easy and fast! Simply put a nut or saddle inside the device and adjust the screws to set the remove amount that you want, sand it on a flat surface with a sandpaper, and in seconds you get the piece squared and flat!

Made of aluminum, brass parts and steel ball bearings. It works for the nut and saddle up to 87mm.

Shaves your saddles and nuts perfectly

Used it on my new Martin D-18 to shave a second saddle .080” shorter than stock. Resulting action is too good to be true. And I can switch between the original saddle and shaved saddle in minutes. Next I’m going to use the Elmer string height gauge to make sure the nut slots are cut to the exact depth I want.

One Great Tool

I needed to control the sanding of my guitar saddle to ensure a good fit and setup to improve the guitar's action while keeping the saddle's base square. This tool is well made and does the trick. Adjustment of the saddle for sanding is easy and precise. Just take your time and go slow and it's rather easy to do an excellent job. I highly recommend it! Use it one time and you will save yourself the price of a set up and then you have the tool for your next guitar’s saddle.

Great little device!

I generally get my luthier stuff from Philadelphia Luthier and found this very fine tool on their site which had great reviews for 10$ more. Not knowing what brand name PL was selling I then found out it was in fact an Elmer brand. I found it on Reverb for 10 bucks less in the Elmer section and bought it.
Just as the reviews here and on PL state it is a very well built and accurate tool even imho surpassing the quality of the stewmac version.

Ease nut filing.

It's really change the way to improve the action of guitar, unbelievably easy to set the right size of the bottom of nut, it's take probably twenty time less time to do the job, I'm not even say how convenient to hold the nut with this tool. Amazing tool.

An excellent product

I saw a YouTube video with someone using a nut saddle sander, and as I usually perform maintenance and setups on guitars in this house (both my son and I play) I decided to get one.

Since the nut saddle sander landed I've dialled in the action on four acoustic guitars.

I do not ascribe to the idea of a guitar being something you have to wrestle with. as you're likely to hurt yourself, and a difficult to play instrument ends up not being played at all.
All four acoustics have an action of 70 thousandths of an inch on the high E, and 90 thousandths of an inch on the low E, at the 12th fret, and they've all benefitted from having the saddle bottom adjusted to sit properly in the bridge slot.

Each setup was done in a relatively short period of time , and all the instruments sound and play superbly well, better than they did before.
Playing the guitars is a joy.

Thanks for making such a fine tool to enable this to happen.
As we say in the Northwest of England, I'm proper chuffed with it!
