The Digital Nut Slotting Gauge measures the string height on the first fret, the measurements are more accurate, so that you can file your nut depths more accurately. It features a digital indicator with a zero button and inch/mm switch button, accurate to .0005"(0.01mm). Your most accurate measurement is at the first fret, For taking measurements higher up the neck, we recommend the String Action Gauge.
The brass base fits over the strings to rest on the fretboard, it works with most acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, and banjos. The larger brass base fits bass string spacings. Both have gently arched bottoms to follow most any fretboard radius. The diameter of the indicator mounting hole is 3/8".
